Extinct Dragonfly Fabric!

Hello there!

I've delved into something different...using my lovely new drawing tablet...!  What better way to test it out that to spend hours and hours and hours drawing tiny fine lines, and giving myself sore shoulders and a sore wrist! :)

This is what I came up with...it is my entry into the Extinct Animals Fabric contest over on Spoonflower.com...  I based the overall shape on a fossil image I found, and went from there...

Introducing the Griffinfly...otherwise known as Meganeura Monyi, an ancient ancestor of the modern dragonfly - but with a wingspan of up to 2.1 feet...one of the largest known insect species ever to exist from around 300 million years ago.

The Giant Griffinfly - Meganeura Monyi

I came up 5 coordinates to go with it (of course!).  The backgrounds are made up of the detail from the Griffinfly wings.  You can see the detail on each design close up by clicking on this link here to go to the collection on Spoonflower.

There are 226 entries this week in the contest...everything from Dinosaurs and Dodos to Golden Toads and Bush Wrens...  You can see them all (and cast your vote until next Thursday), here.

I can't wait to get my swatches of this collection...hopefully I will have them on Tuesday, then I can make them available for sale!
As always - love to hear your feedback!
