The instructions are pretty good, but they don't specify fabric types or quantities. I do usually use minky. The doll is a terry velour, it was the only skin tone fabric I had. I like to use stretch fabrics, and I'm always careful to make sure the stretch and/or pile goes in the same direction. There is more than one pattern piece in a hooping, but all the patterns are different in that regard. I would highly suggest picking just one simple one first and giving it a go. They are all created the same way so it will give you a good feel. I usually buy half yards of minky, and you can get multiple of, say, a teddy bear, out of the half yard. Hope that helps?ShelleyMadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00946864159358892348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027946034745622641.post-71632295421302895732012-04-28T00:08:06.213+12:002012-04-28T00:08:06.213+12:00Shelley, I have looked and looked at Gerda's p...Shelley, I have looked and looked at Gerda's patterns. There a couple I would love to make. Does she give you material options (I notice you use minky)? What material is the doll? If you have a large hoop can you do more than one pattern piece at a time? Any information would be helpful on trying to decide to jump in a do one of these. DianaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
